The beautiful village of Abbotsbury taken from St. Catherines' Chapel. St. Nicholas' Church stands out. A typical beautiful and peaceful Dorset village with a history (it saw bloodshed in the civil war). Map |
| Church Ope Cove on Portland. Just by this gorgeous shingle beach are the remains of Rufus Castle, which was beseiged and captured by Robert, Earl of Gloucester in 1142. Map | ![]() |

The beautiful River Frome between the Saxon walled town of Wareham and the village of Ridge. This is the same river that you see going through the Ten Hatches Weir on the Literary Dorset page. Map |
| St. Aldhelms' Head sticks out into the sea between Swanage
and Kimmeridge. Here we are rounding the head and looking west towards
Kimmeridge and Chapman's Pool. The Devon and Dorset coastline, or the "Jurassic Coast", is now a World Heritage Site. Can you see why? Map |

St. Alhelms' Head again, this time further round and looking down to Chapmans Pool. Map |
| Studland Bay is known for its nudist beach. That's the north beach; however, this is the middle beach. What sort of site do you think this is? The famous Old Harry Rocks are right at the tip of the peninsula of land at the top of the picture. Map | ![]() |

The Saxon walled port of Wareham from the river Frome. Map |
| Weymouth Bay. John Constable's famous depiction of this view hangs in the National Gallery next to The Haywain. Map | ![]() |
