This new page, inspired by the work of my Argentinian correspondent Marina Raffaell, is to be devoted to your Nights-inspired works of art.
Your contributions will be gratefully received. Please get in contact with me via the comments page.
Whilst I think of it, MPGs or midi files of musical compositions or photographs from amateur theatrical productions would also be very welcome.

| Marina (from Argentina) tells me that Scheherazade is the main character of her drawings, and that this was one of her earliest works. In her drawing, "the book represents Scheherazade's intelligence; and if you look at it closely you'll read "magic spell", which in my opinion represents how does she hypnotises the sultan through her tales - the tales are like sorts of spells. The sword represents Scheherazade´s strength (because the marriage was like her death sentence). The butterfly represents Scheherazade´s beauty. The key represents all the doors Scheherazade had to open to save the Sultan - doors in the sultan's mind." | I am also privileged to be able to present a couple of pictures by Jennifer. The full scope of her amazing imagination can be viewed on her own web site. By the way, Jennifer's work, as she says on her site, is in "traditional, physical media". The quality of these images owes nothing to computer technology. |

Sharon of Apsley Acers has sent me this interpretation of Shahrazad in beads. She tells me "I seem to have become addicted to one of the worlds oldest professions "The Art of Adornment. There are no warning labels on the bead packages; the endless numbers, shapes, colours and materials makes design possibilities endless. This endless plethora of choice certainly keeps my creative juices flowing ........" |
